RESUME TIPS

Six things that separate resumes that get interviews from resumes that don't.

1.

Always tailor your resume to the job description

Generic resumes get rejected. Match keywords from the job posting — ATS systems score keyword density heavily.

2.

Quantify every achievement

Replace "helped improve sales" with "increased sales by 34% over 6 months." Numbers get attention.

3.

Keep it to 1–2 pages

Under 3 years experience: 1 page. 3+ years: 2 pages max. Recruiters spend 7 seconds on a resume.

4.

Use a clean, ATS-safe format

No tables, no columns, no headers/footers, no graphics. Many ATS systems cannot parse these.

5.

Start every bullet with a strong action verb

Led, Drove, Built, Launched, Scaled, Reduced, Generated — verbs that show impact and ownership.

6.

Put your strongest section first

For tech roles, skills first. For new grads, education first. For experienced hires, experience first.
